Questions tradies actually ask
Which iPhones does it work on?
Any iPhone with a LiDAR scanner on iOS 18 or later: iPhone 12 Pro / Pro Max and every Pro model since. Standard (non-Pro) iPhones don't have LiDAR.
Is it accurate enough to replace my laser level?
No — and we say so in the app. estiM8r is a field estimation tool: perfect for knowing your fall before you backfill, checking a run before the laser comes out, and recording site conditions. Verify critical or regulated work with certified equipment.
What's a 1:80 fall in mm per metre?
12.5 mm of drop per metre of run (about 0.15 inches per foot). estiM8r does this arithmetic live against whatever target your job needs — you never convert in your head.
Does it work in a dark trench?
Yes — there's a torch button, and LiDAR itself doesn't need light. The camera image helps tracking though, so some light is better than none.
Where does my data go?
Scans stay on your iPhone by default. Sharing is your choice. We don’t sell measurement data or ship ad SDKs. Read the privacy policy.
Can I send a job to a workmate?
With Pro, yes — share a .estim8r file and their app opens it with the full 3D scan, pins and notes. Or send a PDF report anyone can read.
Can I integrate estiM8r into my platform?
